I'm not sure if I would want a larger one.Resolution and colors are nice It fits nicely within the cabinet. Bought this HDTV a year ago. Needed a tv that would fit within the TV cabinet, and this was the largest one, with the smallest edge around the screen. I didn't know if it would be large enough for my living room, but actually it's a very nice size.
My only regret is not buying a larger cabinet for the old TV. The manual was clear, and channel setup was straight forward. I also wanted 1080p so the TV could support future upgrades, and QAM, so we could watch non premium digital cable. The TV is a little slow changing channels, but only compared to the old CRT set. My only constraint was that the new TV had to fit into the present cabinet (The new set had to be less than 25 inches tall).
Sound is good too. The only assembly required was installing the base, and an allen wrench was thoughtfully included. I was leaning toward the Sharp anyway, I liked its picture quality in the store, and the frame around the actual screen was smaller than most. Finally the wife agreed to replace the CRT TV. The 37 inch set was just the correct height.
The picture quality is remarkable, especially when switching between the analog and digital signal of the same TV station.
In a nutshell, the hi-def picture - from over-the-air broadcasts to DVDs is jaw-droppingly good. Even the FedEx driver was impressed with the speed of shipment and perfect condition of the box. Highest recommendations to all. The Sharp Aquos LC37D64U exceeds all of my expectations in picture, sound and price. The unit was shipped immediately from Electronic Express upon ordering and arrived promptly at my house via FedEx. As far as I'm concerned, it has been a very long time since either an electronic device OR an online retailer lived up to the hype but in this case Sharp, Electronic Express and Amazon have truly delivered the goods.
I bought this set due to the size limits of my tv cabinet. The picture quality is great at 1080p. This Sharp is only 35.5" wide. The sound quality of this 37 inch tv is not that good. I believe that this set has been discontinued but I would recommend it to anyone who may find one for sale out there. The remote is a bit complicated so I use the Comcast remote and it has worked out fine.
Just fits in. The Sharp 37" Aquos 1080p has a great picture. Rather tinny with little base. Most 37" sets are wider than the 36" opening of my cabinet.
There is one problem we are still trying to work out with it. I've tried using the component connections on the side of the tv, but the problem persists.
I plan on contacting Sharp again to see if they can come up with a solution. I called sharp about the issue and they suggested updating the software, but the software they had available for download was an older version than the one already on the tv.
I have also tried a different cable all together with no luck. I am fairly certain that it is not my Xbox 360, because I do not have this issue with any other tv that I hook it up to with the same configuration.
We love this TV for the most part, the picture is excellent. I have my xbox 360 connected to the tv using component (rgb) and have noticed that the tv will cut out to a black screen in the middle of playing a game for about 1 second and then come back with the info box in the corner as if the input got unplugged and plugged back in.
So far I haven't noticed the problem with any other source.
